Human Kindness: Relegated to December but Needed All Year

by • December 6, 2013 • Faith, Shabbat Shalom, VideoComments (0)

Officially ushered in with Thanksgiving last week is “the most wonderful time of the year.” Arguably, one of reasons for this seasonal wonder, what makes it seem miraculous, is that across globe, we find in ourselves the inclination to choose someone from the family, friends and strangers we share the planet with, and lift them up amongst the smack downs we all so freely give away.

The acts of kindness in this video are admittedly random and yet so powerful reminding us of the possibilities that exist when the acts are not random, but done with the purity of purpose:

“No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.”

~ Nelson Mandela, Long Walk to Freedom

Shabbat Shalom.
